The Certification in Clinical Documentation Improvement and Integrity (C-CDI) is a professional with knowledge of coding & compliance regulations and an expertise in clinical documentation improvement processes. Such proficiencies provide the CDI with the skills to effectively assist a healthcare organization in understanding, promoting and expanding its approach to best practices in clinical documentation.
This program was developed specifically for those healthcare professionals who are involved in providing knowledge and maintaining compliance within the new MS-DRG system. These individuals include physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, health information managers, coding professionals, case managers/utilization reviewers, quality assurance professionals, compliance professionals and any other person whose responsibility is to ensure that the appropriate severity-of-illness is captured and the utilization of services are justified through explicit physician documentation in patient medical record.
The C-CDI designation is valid through December 31st two (2) years following the successful achievement of a passing score on the C-CDI examination.
We will continue to offer one (1) CEU in DocuComp LLC; however, starting with this issue there will be a cost of $75 to receive the one (1) CDI CEU which is a significantly less cost than most CEU programs that you would receive credit for. We will continue to offer two CEUs for the authorship of a program and three CEUs for authorship of an article along with ten questions for registrants to receive credit for. Beginning in 2011, there will be a CDI recertification fee of $125.This will be able to be paid by credit cars or check.
